The first photo (yep, the dinosaur one....) was taken a few months ago after landing at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and walking through, marveling at the hugeness of this humongous airport (pretty sure it's America's largest), when I came upon this wonderful recreation of one of the plant-eater variety, we call them "long-necks", maybe a Brachiosaurus or a Dimetrodon.  I posted this photo not just because it's very educational for 1st Graders (really child or adult), but because it represents the area geographically that our class will be conducting a video conference (Skype) with in a first grade class just outside the Greater Chicago area this week!

The photos taken of our 1st Grade here at AOH represent some of the WorkStations; one of the Literacy WorkStations where Zadin has just completed a word puzzle match; the Construction WorkStation; and Madison with her Lego creation at the Lego WorkStation.  Students must also draw representations of their creations and describe in written language what was created.

Our field trip to Wonder Works is this Friday, February 10.  Remember, students may wear jeans but must still wear their AOH logo shirts for group and identification purposes:)  Get those permission slips turned in quickly if you have not already done so.  A Wondrous treat awaits!!!
