Chillin' Out with Chapter Books....

Students are beginning to understand that reading Chapter Books requires a more complex set of skills, like using mind imagery where no pictures are prevalent, reading for sustained periods of time with the single focus of taking in meaning from the story while using all the "book knowledge" skills and strategies they've learned thus far and doing it mostly silently...what a grand accomplishment for 1st grade!!!!!

New to the Chapter Book arsenal in Mrs. Carrasquillo's/Ms. Chapman's class is Junie B.
